This year, one of Natexpo's major new features was the Lab, an exhibition and pitching space dedicated to startups in the circular economy and/or offering technological eco-innovations. Natexpo took the initiative to offer startups the opportunity to showcase their innovative approaches and products, which can bring added value to the organic sector and its consumers.
Visitors and other exhibitors at the show were invited to rate the performances of each Lab exhibitor, and the grand prize winner was announced at the end of the show. And so it is...
…Pepino (formerly Oui! Greens) who won!
Pepino is a mobile application that allows food producers and distributors to identify local stakeholders capable of reusing their surplus raw products and connects them. This prevents waste, promotes the circular economy and local communities, and provides visibility to small producers. Since its launch eight months ago, Pepino has saved two tons of fruit and vegetables.
Remember, his idea was: “Producers, early growers: do you have products left over?
Whatever their condition, they still have value for players in the local food industry!”
– A committed, responsible and supportive approach
I avoid waste while helping associations in their daily fight against food insecurity.
– More visibility, less loss
I connect my store to a large community with varied needs (restaurant owners, individuals, associations, etc.).
– Confirm customer expectations
I confirm current purchasing trends and adjust my orders in anticipation of demand.
– A turnkey mobile platform
I benefit from a turnkey web/mobile platform and value-added services (analysis, communication)
See you next year at the Natexpo Paris Lab to elect the best start-up from among the fifty innovative eco-businesses!
