Since 2018, Natexpo has been held every two years (even-numbered years) in Lyon.

It takes place in Lyon because the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is a key player in the organic sector: it is the leading region in numbers of processors and third in terms of production in France. Lyon is a dynamic and attractive regional capital, as well as being close to European markets, making it the ideal place to host this event.

Natexpo 2024 will offer the opportunity to discover local companies, illustrating the region’s vitality and innovative flair. Nearly 20% of show exhibitors are local companies, such as VIEILLE GRAINE (food products using heirloom cereals), ECOCOTTE (natural and ethically-sourced cooking utensils) and LES CAFÉS DAGOBERT (Demeter and 100% organic-certified roasting).

Focus on… the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Organic Cluster

The main role of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Organic Cluster is to support and promote development of the organic sector in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Created in 2006, the cluster now brings together over 270 organically-certified companies from a variety of sectors, such as food, cosmetics and cleaning products.

Missions of the Organic Cluster

The missions of the Organic Cluster cover several key areas:

  • Support for economic development: It supports organic companies with marketing, offering technical and strategic support (market data, fundraising, training, etc.)
  • Structuring the organic sector: The Cluster is involved throughout the entire value chain, upstream to downstream, to improve organisation and collaboration within the sector.
  • Innovation and marketing: It encourages the emergence of new ideas and supports companies in their marketing efforts, both regionally and internationally.
  • Promote organic farming: The Cluster promotes organic labels and raises consumer awareness of the benefits of organic products.

Initiatives

The Organic Cluster takes a variety of actions to boost the sector:

  • Events and meetings: Organizing professional meetings with distributors and networking among industry stakeholders.
  • Support for export: Support for organic companies at international shows and putting companies in touch with foreign buyers.
  • Public Communication: Launch of the “Let’s Consume Organic in the Region” campaign to encourage and support the consumption of organic and local products.

The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Organic Cluster plays a crucial role in supporting and structuring the organic sector, as well as setting up a variety of actions to promote and develop organic products in the region.
