Within Synabio, each year a CSR observatory is published. The results of the measurement ofimpact of our 59 certified companies Sustainable biobusiness® (BioED) on key indicators are presented there.

BioED® is the only sector-specific CSR label for companies in the organic sector, based on the ISO 26000 standard, the benchmark standard in CSR. It provides strong recognition of companies' commitments across all pillars of sustainable development, beyond the requirements of the European organic regulation.
What are their practices and progress? A brief overview.
CSR practices increasingly integrated within management

The CSR approach of our label holders is increasingly anchored in corporate strategies; in fact, 48% of them have published extra-financial indicators attesting to their performance on CSR issues (environment, societal, social, etc.) and 19% have integrated a corporate mission to their status (compared to 8% in 2021).
Employees are also increasingly involved in the company project, 94% of those with the label present their strategic directions to all their employees (compared to 76% in 2021) and 94,5% of companies have established methods of shared governance.
Strong environmental practices
BioED companies are also committed to strong environmental aspects and are making progress. In fact, 48% of certified companies have integrated biodiversity criteria in their specifications or supplier assessment (compared to 32% in 2021). 54% also have more than 50% of their recyclable finished product packaging. Or again, 53% of the energy used by labeled companies concerns, on average, renewable energies.

More responsible organic sectors
The development of organic sectors is an important axis for the construction of a coherent and sustainable bio : Nearly 46% of companies buy their raw materials in fairtrade jewelry in volumes (compared to 21% in 2021). Similarly, an average annual budget of €312K is allocated by BioED-certified companies to development of organic sectors.
Governance, working relationships & conditions, environment, responsible purchasing, health, safety & naturalness of products and even territorial anchoring are all of issues where BioED companies want to go furtherThey thus respond to an increasingly important demand from consumers to provide transparency on their positive and negative impacts, and put in place a continuous improvement approach.
