If the Belgians' taste for cheese is less well known than that of
Whether French or Swiss, it remains no less real – notably thanks to the tradition of abbey cheeses. This, coupled with this country's strong appetite for healthy food, results in organic and lactose-free cheeses from Danatel, a family business founded in 2003. Aware of the discomfort associated with digesting dairy products due to lactose, the company has developed a range of cheeses without this sugar. To obtain these cheeses, the company adjusts the maturation time or adds an enzyme (lactase), particularly for Gouda and Edam. As for taste, they remain at the heart of Danatel's philosophy. Present in Belgium in the organic network, the brand would like to enter the French market.
